Job Title

Founder & CEO

Job Role

Creating a vision for GPI and leading the way.

Tell us a little about your journey that lead you to GPI

I started as a pharmacist, working my way through pharmacies, hospitals, and the department of health. Here, I supported a consulting firm looking at reengineering the purchase of medicines and tendering. This is where my passion for drug pricing and access really stemmed from. I then joined IMS Health, now IQVIA, gaining consulting experience, building deep domain knowledge in the use of data to solve pricing, market access challenges and business transformation. In late 2015, I launched GPI, initially starting as a lifestyle consulting business. We quickly saw gaps in the sector and have been growing organically ever since.

What do you like most about working at GPI?

I love working with all the different specialities, skillsets, and minds that GPI employs. It is one of the most unique environments I’ve ever worked in. GPI is an amalgamation of different brains, schools of thought, cultures, and expertise. Getting them to work together and create amazing outcomes to solve industry issues, provides me with such satisfaction. Helping our clients deliver something so heartfelt, getting drugs to patients faster and more efficiently, is the best part of what I do. Not only are we enjoying the process of creating solutions to solve problems, but we are also seeing tangible benefits on the other side.

What is it like to work at GPI day-to-day?

For me, every day is different. Each day comes with a new challenge, a new opportunity, a new piece of positive news, and sometimes not so positive news. Every day is completely unique, and I love it! The most exciting and fulfilling thing about working at GPI, is working with such a fantastic group of lovely people, who inspire me every day. Working in a start-up environment can be both challenging and exhilarating but incredibly rewarding. We have the chance to shape a new way of thinking and create solutions for a better future and there can’t be anything more satisfying than that.

In your own words, what makes GPI, GPI

The people! Working with such a diverse group of people who all bring something different to the table. I see excellence and creativity, day-in and day-out, working to bring creative solutions to the market and it really stands us out as an organisation.  I am amazed at what we have achieved with such little resources and in such short time. This is completely down to the team working together under sometime challenging times, to keep going and belief in the vision.

We really want to help and support the industry in driving change. Incredible things are happening in the life-science industry and the industry is going through huge transformation.

What stands GPI out from the rest?

What stands us out is the vision. We see things differently at GPI, identifying opportunities in the sector and aiming to address them in a better way. Our team is comprised of the best technical, analytical and industry minds. When we pull together, our solutions are powerful. Also, as one of the very few female CEO’s in the sector, GPI can offer a different outlook to the norm. Additionally, we have a vast data repository that can be leveraged to find creative solutions and with the new technological advances, the possibilities are endless.

What do you do when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, I am all about family, I love spending free time going for long walks, yoga and entertaining – I make amazing enchiladas, with all the works! Family is what keeps me grounded and ensures I keep a healthy work-life balance.

If you could meet anyone in the World, dead or alive, who would it be?

Steve Jobs.

What he did with the Apple brand, at that time, was revolutionary. The vision, and what he achieved globally, in such a short space of time is awe-inspiring. Knowing how difficult it is first-hand to introduce change and experiencing the every-day challenges of what I’m trying to do at GPI, on a small scale, to see him do it on a global scale is remarkable. I would love to talk to him about his legacy and what he achieved.

Lastly, do you have a vision of GPI in future?

The vision is to carry on breaking barriers, in terms of the challenges that we have seen to get medicines to the market sustainably, i.e. the right price, the best access and as quickly and safely as possible. We really want to help and support the industry in driving change. Incredible things are happening in the life-science industry and the sector is going through huge transformation. My vision is that GPI plays a pivotal role in driving that change. There are so many exciting things to come from GPI, this is just the beginning…
